Abi Amstutz is a graduate of Arizona State University, with a Bachelor's in Business and with a concentration in Sustainability. They are especially skilled in facilitation, team building, and creative problem solving. She works to connect stakeholders in meaningful ways that promote long term sustainable shifts in businesses, cities and communities.

A non-traditional student, she spent the first six years after high school training in yoga, exploring nonprofits abroad (Honduras) and locally (Illinois), as well as working as an artist. Her nonprofit work has focused on collaborative wellness and community building, and has given her grant writing, invoicing, event coordinating and public speaking experience.

Abi has maintained a part time career in trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness practices, which she shares monthly on her Patreon page and YouTube channel. (To find more of their yoga specific content see the wellness resources page). She loves to study anything that meshes with her passion for social and collective wellbeing. In addition to being a trauma-informed yoga instructor, Abi is a personal trainer, ordained minister, non-violent communicator, embodiment coach and HAES (Healthy at Every Size) advocate. Abi has also self-published five poetry books, a memoir, and hosts a podcast

When she is not reading, writing, or napping you can find her hiking around her home in central Illinois.

What is a Wellness Consultancy?

The term's "wellness" and "wellbeing" are used with increasing frequency. Similar terms have become embedded into daily conversations- we're all triggered, dealing with trauma, and #healing... or are we?

Abi's work as a Wellness Consultant attunes to the whole-being (or whole-lifecycle) needs of people, teams, products, and processes.

Some common threats to sustaining business that they can help address include:

-burnout

-embodiment

-mindful leadership

-Executive wellbeing

-Caregiver care and compassion fatigue (teachers, nursery attendants, nurses, etc.)

-work and workplace boundaries

-digital wellbeing

-personalized health coaching

Abi's experience in writing, public speaking, podcast hosting and event facilitation echo her values around communication. Part of the foundation of her work is the core belief that everyone's story matters, and that each person has an important, meaningful perspective. Equipped at holding space with nuance, while generating boundaries and expectations, she is highly skilled in mediation that increases accessibility, connection, and respect for each voice in the room.

social wellness

Social Wellness is the fabric of sustainable cities and communities. A couple years into teaching yoga Abi made the monumental, career altering shift towards accessibility and communal driven spaces. Leaving most of her previous gym-centered networks she connected with the founder of Soulside Healing Arts and the initial investors of First Ascent Peoria. Working along others from the ground up Abi began to approach her yoga related work through a trauma informed lens and body positive yoga practices.

Passionate about the language we use to connect, market and facilitate space she specializes in designing gatherings, trainings, classes and team building spaces that focus on safety, support and compassion

She continues to teach workshops and seasonal classes that are intentionally inclusive and communal. She has partnered with the National Association of Social Workers, local libraries, small groups, families and individuals exploring their wellness options and practices.
